“King of Zines: The Concussion Documentary” is a short film, originally part of the 2004 New York Underground Film Festival. It follows Concussion Magazine — a zine that captured the raw, underground side of skateboarding: the art, the music, and the community that never made it onto mainstream screens. it’s a snapshot of DIY culture at its most authentic.

What if you could publish anything, your way, with no rules?
A short documentary diving into the world of zines — self-published, DIY booklets born out of sci-fi fan culture in the 1930s and later embraced by punk, feminist, and activist communities worldwide. All you need is an idea, a pair of scissors, and something to say.
