Exhibition: The Rock Retreat Gibraltar tells a zine-making tale of women and home…

Untitled Artwork
Home, a window on a world of women sharing their personal experiences of belonging.

Produced in collaboration with Youlou Arts Foundation in St. Vincent and the Grenadines, this project began late last year with a zine workshop – women coming together to create zines and record their reflections on their relationship with home. The subject proved so inspiring that word soon spread, and we have been able to gather zines from across the globe in response to this universal theme.

This collection is also currently being exhibited in St Vincent. “Home can mean many things – it can be a physical place or an idea,” says Camille Saunders-Musser, director of Youlou Arts Foundation. “These artists and writers explore themes of memory, identity and belonging that inspire connection.”

About The Rock Retreat
The Rock Retreat is a non-profit cultural organisation supported by Gibraltar Cultural Services. Our aim is to help people tell their stories through professionally mentored children’s writing and illustrating retreats. These are creating a community for aspiring creatives committed to sharing stories that engage today’s young readers.

You can download the zines and listen to the audio that accompanies the exhibition on our website
